Anxiety Be Gone!

According to an article published in The Huffington Post, an article, "Tylenol and Death Anxiety: Pain Reliever Eases 'Existential Dread,' Study Suggests" was published by Megan Gannon. Tylenol is used by people, who wish to remove their treacherous headache, or to eliminate the excruciating pain caused by falling off a high elevation. Tylenol is composed of a main ingredient called, Acetaminophen. The latter is responsible for easing any physical pain. However, study now suggests, that Tylenol can also be taken to reduce any anxiety, due to fear of dying.  It has been shown, that anxiety that deals with the longing to find a meaning in life is located in the same place in the brain, as the anxiety that is caused by physical pain. Therefore, if Tylenol reliefs pain, that is controlled by a certain area of the brain, then it should also help with easing an individuals ambivalence towards life and death.  If the latter is proven, then Tylenol will have a new purpose for the anxious individuals. It will certainly be the reason to people's relaxation and new comfort, and perspective about life, itself.

  1. Looks like a whole lot more people are going to be taking tylenol now that it is proven that it has multiple purposes. Considering the fact that tylenol is also an anxiety reliever, it can replace multiple other medicines and drugs. People who commonly use medicinal marijuana to relieve their pains and get them in a state of relaxation, can replace their intake of marijuana with safe doses of Acetaminophen given by a physician. This can be a safer method, because Tylenol does not seem as addictive as other drugs. Because it also helps cure physical pain, by curing anxiety as well, it can be one of the most commonly taken drugs around the world. It will give individuals a sense of understanding towards life and death, as it will be a relaxing and calming method to ease people into life, and help them understand their roles in society.

  2. It is great to see that relatively old medications that were used for a single problem can be used for other purposes as well. However, I think that this might lead to problems such as addiction to Tylenol. Since it has a new purpose now, people can use that as an excuse to take excess amounts of it. With new discoveries always come new problems.
